In May 2014, John and I attended the 4th Annual Georgia Mountain EggFest in Hiawassee, Georgia.

The EggFest was held at the famous Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds along the shores of Lake Chatuge.

What’s an EggFest?

GA Mtn EggFest

An EggFest is a venue for people who enjoy cooking on a Big Green Egg or who want to start cooking on one.

The weekend kicked-off with a Meet and Greet Party on Friday night.

A few of the guys cooked 2 briskets and 16 pork butts prior to the event.

They used the “turbo method” and had everything cooked in 6 hours.

I’m glad John and I stopped in when we did.

I mean, someone needed to taste it before serving it to everyone.

The Meet and Greet Party was a blast!

Everyone either brought a covered dish to share, or cooked something on one of the five large Big Green Eggs available.

For several hours we talked, laughed, drank, and ate.

What better way to meet new friends than with food cooked on a Big Green Egg?

The next morning, over 100 Big Green Eggs were lit and over 1800 tasters poured through the gate.
