Singapore Airlines A380 Suites Class

Singapore Suites

In March 2016 we had the opportunity to experience Singapore Airlines A380 Suites Class.

Singapore Airlines A380 Suites

Not just once, but three times on our way to Australia!

Singapore Suites

Our Singapore Suites adventure began in New York where we flew Singapore Airlines flight number 25 from JFK to FRA (Frankfurt) to SIN (Singapore).

After exploring Singapore for the day:

We flew Singapore Airlines flight number 221 from SIN to SYD (Sydney).

Singapore Airlines offers their Book the Cook service when flying in Suites Class, First Class, Business Class, and Premium Economy.

There are a variety of options you can reserve before your flight, but you have the option to change your mind if something on the onboard menu tempts you.

Singapore Suites

We opted for the Book the Cook service on all three flights.

Before our trip, I skimmed the internet looking for advice on what to preorder. I read several trip reports and quickly realized that I could probably order the same meal on all three flights, and the meal will be completely different on all three flights.

From New York to Frankfurt, I chose U.S. Grilled Prime Beef Fillet with asparagus, baby spinach, roasted potato, and served with balsamic onion sauce.

The beef was tender and cooked perfectly. The only thing I would have changed is the sauce. It was more like a gravy and I don’t think the prime beef needed to be covered up with something that heavy.

From Frankfurt to Singapore, I chose Lobster Thermidor with buttered asparagus, slow-roasted vine-ripened tomato, and saffron rice.

Singapore Suites

I was skeptical about ordering lobster on an airplane, but I knew that if it wasn’t good, I could simply order something else from the onboard menu.
As it turns out I had nothing to worry about. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the texture was on point.

From Singapore to Sydney, I pre-ordered Boston Lobster Thermidor:

A whole lobster sautéed in butter, flambéed in brandy, sprinkled with cheese, and served with creamy mushroom sauce, garlic and spicy mustard, and buttered asparagus.

It was sinfully rich and lovely and again, perfectly cooked.

Our entrées were served with top-notch appetizers, soups, and salads as well.

Chilled Malossol Caviar:

Singapore Chicken and Mutton Satay with a spicy peanut sauce:

Stracciatella Cheese with Tomato Jelly:

Rocket Salad with cherry tomatoes, shaved parmesan, pine nuts and croutons:

And each meal is served with a dessert and cheese course.

Of course there is more to Singapore Airlines Suites Class than just fine dining and champagne.

Each passenger receives a pair of comfortable pajamas to wear during the flight:

And an amenity kit with Salvatore Ferragamo products.

Each suite features a sliding door and window blinds for privacy:

Spacious 35 inches wide leather armchairs:

Over 1,000 entertainment options on a 23″ personal TV:

And a comfortable bed when it’s time to sleep.

Singapore Suites

The center suites can be converted into one room with a double bed. Let that sink in for a second because thought of it still boggles my mind.

Needless to say we slept extremely well on all three of our overnight flights.

Singapore Airlines Suites Class is among the most expensive onboard experiences in the world.

Singapore Suites

And we enjoyed every second of our luxurious 27 hour adventure for FREE!

Singapore Suites

Well, almost free… we had to pay those pesky taxes.
