Tasmania: Dove Lake Circuit
Dove Lake Circuit is a 5.7 km hike located at the foot of Cradle Mountain in Tasmania.
It is one of Tasmania’s most popular hikes, so we knew we had to check it out when we visited December 2016.
The track is fairly easy along paved paths and boardwalks:
And takes between 2-3 hours to complete.
The circuit passes by picturesque sandy shorelines:
Through the Ballroom Forest, a magnificent cool temperate rainforest:
Aptly named Glacier Rock:
And The Boatshed:
Arguably the most photographed section along Dove Lake Circuit.
Definitely take a couple of hours to enjoy this walk when your travels take you to the Central Highlands region of Tasmania.
Your only challenge will be finding a sunny day.
Fortunately, we arrived in time for stunning views of Cradle Mountain:
But that wasn’t the case by the time we finished the circuit.
Nonetheless, our afternoon at Dove Lake Circuit was the highlight of our time at Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.
