Addo Elephant National Park
On January 5th, 2011 we drove to Addo Elephant National Park for the night.
We entered through the southern gate in the town of Colchester.
The drive from the southern gate to the main camp was about an hour.
On the drive we saw Elephants, Warthogs, and Zebras.
We stayed in one of the Rondavels overlooking the watering hole.
Our first game drive was the Sundowner with drinks and snacks.
After about an hour of searching we finally found a couple of lions.
The next morning we went on the Sunrise Game Drive and watched the park come alive.
We watched a buffalo tolerate a couple of lions for a short time.
And then he had enough of that.
After breakfast we drove towards Port Elizabeth but took the long way through the park.
It was a warm day so most of the animals were napping in the bushes.
We did see a couple of playful elephants cooling off in a mud hole.
Addo Elephant National Park is a must-do while in South Africa.
