Tasmania: Dove Lake Circuit
Dove Lake Circuit is a 5.7 km hike located at the foot of Cradle Mountain in Tasmania.
It is one of Tasmania’s most popular hikes, so I knew I had to check it out when I visited December 2016.
The track is fairly easy along paved paths and boardwalks and takes between 2-3 hours to complete.
The circuit passes by picturesque sandy shorelines:
Through the Ballroom Forest, a magnificent cool temperate rainforest:
Aptly named Glacier Rock:
And The Boatshed:
Arguably the most photographed section along Dove Lake Circuit.
Definitely take a couple of hours to enjoy this walk when your travels take you to the Central Highlands region of Tasmania.
Your only challenge will be finding a sunny day.
Fortunately, I arrived in time for stunning views of Cradle Mountain:
But that wasn’t the case by the time I finished the circuit.
Nonetheless, our afternoon at Dove Lake Circuit was the highlight of our time at Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.
