Eating in Hong Kong
One of my favorite things to do in Hong Kong is eat. Yes, there is more to Hong Kong than food, like Tian Tan Buddha and Victoria Peak:
But you gotta eat!
If I find a killer airfare, I will book a flight to Hong Kong just to eat. I’m not even joking.
In March 2017 I went to Hong Kong and only stayed 40 hours.
Forty glorious hours of eating.
Below are some of my favorite Hong Kong Restaurants you don’t want to miss.

Spring Deer Restaurant
Address: 42 Mody Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Hours: Daily 11:30AM–2PM, 6–11PM
Phone: +852 2366 4012
Note: Reservations are a must. Simply ask your hotel to make the reservation for you.
Spring Deer is the place for Peking Duck in Hong Hong, in my opinion.
It’s a modest restaurant with an old school vibe and their duck is the perfect balance of crispy skin and tender meat.
They opened their doors in the 70’s and I don’t think they’ve changed much since day one.
And it is perfect.

Temple Spice Crabs
Address: Temple Street Night Market, at the intersection of Temple Street and Nanking Street.
Hours: Daily 6PM-11PM
Phone: +254 716 759533
Note: I usually bring wet towelettes.
Temple Spice Crabs is a popular seafood restaurant located at the Temple Street Night Market.
The bustling restaurant is so loved that they have expanded into 3 restaurants on the same corner.
I usually order the Spice Crabs and Spice Prawn.
And a few beers.

Tim Ho Wan
Address: G/F, 9-11 Fuk Wing Street, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon (This is the flagship location.)
Hours: Daily 8am-9:30pm
Phone: +852 2788 1226
Note: Cash only. Arrive early for a number.
Tim Ho Wan is known as The World’s Cheapest Michelin Star Restaurant.
Ask for an English menu, if needed, and order to your heart’s desire.
I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered:
Including the Baked BBQ Pork Buns which are a must when visiting Tim Ho Wan.

Chang Won Korean Restaurant
Address: 1 Kimberley Street, Shop G-1, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Hours: Daily 12:00PM-5:00AM
Phone: +852 2311 0133
Note: Open until 5am.
I absolutely love authentic Korean BBQ and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Chang Won Korean Restaurant.
Chang Won opened in 1976 and was the first Korean restaurant on Kimberley Street, also known as Korean Street.
And since they are open until 5am, this is a great spot to remember on those late Hong Kong nights.

Dim Sum Square
Address: 88 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-10PM, Sunday 8AM-10PM
Phone: +852-28518088
Note: Can be crowded at peak times, but I waited an easy 20 minutes at lunchtime.
Dim Sum Square is another authentic and inexpensive dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong.
People rave about their Crispy BBQ Pork Buns and some even say they rival the ones found at Tim Ho Wan.
Dim Sum Square and Tim Ho Wan are both excellent options for Dim Sum in Hong Kong, but the atmospheres are completely different.
Just go to both . . . you won’t be sorry!
