My favorite winery in McLaren Vale is Hugh Hamilton Wines, or as I call it, The Black Sheep Winery.
The Hamiltons are Australia’s oldest wine family:
And as is with all families, someone is the Black Sheep:
It seems Hugh Hamilton is it.

This year, Hugh Hamilton Wines is celebrating 180 years in the business.
In 1837 Hugh’s great, great grandfather came to South Australia and planted what were the first vines in the new colony.
Stop by for a Tasting of the Senses cellar door experience, or simply grab a glass of wine and enjoy the 270 degree view.
